Strengthening support for of education retirees
First future retirees report: retirement planning in a pandemic
How did the pandemic impact retirement planning? That was the focus of our inaugural Future Retirees Report, which gathered insights from over 900 individuals who plan to retire from Canada's education sector. Highlights include:
- 92 per cent of respondents indicated they will retire within the next year to five years.
- 30 per cent of survey participants indicating that they were contemplating an earlier retirement date than originally planned due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Learning remains a key priority for individuals as they approach retirement age. Among pre-retirees, topics related to wellbeing at work and personal growth are of particular interest.
Ultimate retirement planning resource bundle for education workers launches
We regularly hear from education workers that they want to know more about insurance for retirement and would like help with practical retirement to-do tasks. In 2022, we packaged our most popular resources into a downloadable bundle. Whether just starting to plan for retirement or in the midst of it, our resource bundle can help education workers navigate important decisions and tasks with ease. After downloading the resource bundle, individuals are added to our email list, so we stay in touch and provide more helpful information to support their journey.
